Good Word
At Good School, we recognize that every child learns differently, especially when it comes to reading and writing. Research shows that about one in five children face challenges in these areas, and over one million Canadian children struggle to read at their grade level. This highlights the critical need to understand how our brains learn literacy skills — and to provide effective, structured support early on.
The Good Word Program is our early intervention initiative, designed to equip children with the essential skills and strategies needed for reading and writing success. This structured literacy program focuses on five key components of reading, using sequenced instruction that builds on each student’s strengths and addresses their unique needs. By laying a solid foundation, the Good Word Program empowers children to discover the joy, beauty, and wisdom in words, fostering confidence and proficiency in literacy skills — and setting them on a path to lifelong learning and success.
